When the email came in for a Destination Wedding in Jamaica I thought I might be dreaming. I absolutely love to travel with couples to epic locations. How freaking special Felecia and Brandon reached out to me for such a special trip.
We immediately put a coffee date in the books that next day. Over coffee and breakfast sandwiches I swoon over Felecia’s as she shares her dream and wedding day plans. We walk through the wedding day and logistics of traveling together.
Nothing prepared us for how many times they had to reschedule their wedding due to the Pandemic. I was insanely honored to capture their sweet PNW elopement so these two cuties could tie the knot while we waited for Jamaica to open back up. But that special elopement is another story for another blog.
What a special day when my husband (Igor) and I hopped on a plane. My husband is my travel buddy, assistant, professional boutonniere put-er-on, and second shooter. We grinned and barely held in our excitement as we flew to meet our bride and groom in Jamaica! FINALLY! Heck yes!
Jamaica is quite dark outside when we arrive. We welcome the warm and humid air. We squint out the shuttle windows trying to make out buildings, landscapes, animals and people. There is nothing like visiting a country or place for the first time. New experiences for all my senses. When we are dropped off at our resort and as soon as we checked in and entered our room we called room service. LATE NIGHT SNACK TIME! I’m always hungry after traveling or a plane ride.
There is no dry eye the next evening during dinner with Felicia and Brandon’s friends & family. Everyone was so excited to be together and chatting last minute wedding details for the next day.
Finally the morning of Felecia and Brandon’s Jamaica Wedding. We began with champagne with the bridesmaids in the wedding suite. Met with the guys and rest of the bridal party at the cocktail hour. A little tropical rain came down and as soon as the sun came back out we headed out for photos on the beach.
The evening came with much dancing and singing. We are all so sweaty and hot from dancing our butts off that we finish the night by jumping into the pool.
Jamaica has a sweet place in my heart. From the beautiful beaches, gorgeous turquoise waters, language, people and memories.
Congratulations again to Felecia and Brandon. Love you two and cannot wait to capture more special moments.
